Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah 2, Ayah 282
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِذَا تَدَايَنتُم بِدَيْنٍ إِلَىٰ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى فَاكْتُبُوهُ ۚ وَلْيَكْتُب بَّيْنَكُمْ كَاتِبٌ بِالْعَدْلِ ۚ وَلَا يَأْبَ كَاتِبٌ أَن يَكْتُبَ كَمَا عَلَّمَهُ اللَّهُ وَلْيَكْتُبْ وَلْيُمْلِلِ الْمُدِينُ وَلْيَتَّقِ اللَّهَ رَبَّهُ وَلَا يَبْخَسْ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا ۚ
"O you who have believed, when you contract a debt for a specified term, write it down. And let a scribe write [it] between you in justice. And do not let the scribe refuse to write as Allah has taught him. And let the debtor fear Allah, his Lord, and not leave anything out of it." (2:282)
**Simple Meaning:**
This ayah shows that writing and knowledge are very important in Islam. Allah tells us to write down debts clearly so there is no confusion. It means knowing and learning are important for doing things right.
**Hadith Source:**
Sahih al-Bukhari, Hadith 71
طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيضَةٌ عَلَى كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ
"Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim."
